  • Butterfly SEND Hub

Clifton Primary School is dedicated to ensuring that every child, including those with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), is supported to thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment. In partnership with the Local Authority, the Butterfly SEND Hub was established in September 2025 to provide specialist provision for children in the EYFS and Key Stage 1 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Currently offering eight places, the Hub delivers tailored support designed to meet individual needs and promote meaningful progress. Plans are already underway to extend this provision into Lower Key Stage 2, enabling a further 8 children to benefit from this specialist approach. Admission to the Butterfly Hub is carefully considered through consultation with the Local Authority and Headteacher, Liam Marshall. The Hub is led by Neve Matthews, whose expertise and commitment ensure a high-quality, supportive learning environment for all pupils.

The staff team in the Butterfly Hub are supported by a wide team of professionals, including the school's SENDCo (Suzanne Shrewsbury), a speech and language professional, a fully qualified play therapist, various specialist teachers and an educational psychologists.

For further information about the Butterfly SEND Hub please contact Liam Marshall, Headteacher or Suzanne Shrewsbury, SENDCO via the school.
