Uniform Information

The governors regularly discuss the school policy on school uniform and take into consideration the views of parents/carers, pupils and staff.

Our uniform here at Clifton Primary School is as follows:

General Uniform
Children wear: Red School Logo jumper or cardigan White polo shirt (plain) Grey trousers/skirt or a pinafore dress Full black shoes (no different coloured sole/ decorative details). Grey/black /white socks or tights in these same colours No jewellery except one pair of stud earrings are permitted. Watches are permitted, but smartwatches are not allowed. Long hair should always be tied back and hair accessories should be small, discreet and must be in school colours. *In Summer, children may wish to wear a red gingham dress or grey shorts instead of school trousers.*

PE Kit
This is to be worn to school on the 2 PE days each week. Red PE polo (school logo optional). These can also be bought plain from a range of clothing stores or supermarkets. Plain black or navy jogging bottoms, leggings or loose-fitting knee length black PE shorts (no cycling shorts allowed). The current branded Clifton jogging bottoms are optional. Fully black pumps or trainers (no different coloured sole/ decorative details). Our optional branded red PE hoodie may be worn if desired. Alternatively, a plain red hoodie or zip-up is also allowed. These plain alternatives can be bought from a range of supermarkets. No earrings can be worn during PE lessons.

Children in Years 4 and 5 will need the following kit to take part in their swimming lessons: Swimming trunks or swimming costume Towel No watches or earrings may be worn Goggles only to be worn Swimming hats may be worn when children have long hair.

Labelling

With so many pupils in school it is obviously sensible that all clothing and equipment is clearly marked with the owner’s name. While making every attempt to return named items we cannot be responsible for lost property and valuable personal items such as watches and jewellery should not be brought into school. (Children must remove all such items before P.E. lessons, including earrings and must store these themselves – staff cannot look after any such items).

We suggest that ear piercing, if deemed necessary, is carried out during the summer holidays to allow time for the healing process. Staff do not remove jewellery, this being the responsibility of the pupils or parents/carers.
