Bringing out the best in each and every child

Year 3

Mrs Bye and Mrs Atkinson are our Teachers

Mrs Johnson and Mrs Long are our Teaching Assistants

We had an amazing day on our school trip. The children listened brilliantly and learnt lots during our session at the museum. They also impressed Mrs Bye when answering questions showing their knowledge about the Romans. They enjoyed handling artefacts and trying on helmets and armour. We visited the remains of a Roman Granary and a Bath House too. Well done Year 3!

We have celebrated VE Day. The children wrote letters to a veteran to thank them for their service. They were very respectful during a two minute silence. We enjoyed singing a song called I Remember and also did a Conga around the playground like people did on VE Day in 1945!

In Maths we had fun using art straws and playdough to construct 3D shapes. We counted the number edges and vertices.

Investigating shadows

During Science the children have been learning about light and shadows. They had a great time investigating how shadows changed when they moved their torches.

Year 3 had a great time using charcoal to create art work.  We looked at art work created in caves many years ago and the children created their own pieces of work using their hands, charcoal and chalk.

We had a great time at Beauclerk Gardens with the Fylde Rangers helping to plant hundreds of bulbs. The children worked really hard and we’re all really looking forward to seeing the flowers in bloom in the spring.
