Trip to Brockhole - Tuesday 2nd July 2024

We had a wonderful day at Brockhole on Windermere this week.  The children impressed us all with their resilience as they braved the cave, their resourcefulness as they nailed the trail and their responsibility as they mastered the mountain! We enjoyed beautiful weather too.

Roman soldier day - 21st May 2024

We had a great day in Class 5 with our visit from Titus, the Roman Centurion.  The children learnt lots of interesting facts about the Romans.  They handled artefacts and tried on some armour and helmets.  They trained to be Roman soldiers and moved in the turtle formation. We hope you enjoy seeing the photos from the day!

Learning about Roman life and the daily life of a soldier

We have been learning all about Plants in Science this half term.  The children carefully dissected tulips into their different parts.

Trip to Hope St Park

We had a great afternoon on Monday 18th March.  Class 5 used the maps they had created in class to help them get to Hope St Park.  We then observed and drew the daffodils we helped to plant in November.  Finally, the children created a sketch map of the park.

Bulb planting at Hope St park

Fylde Rangers invited us to Hope St park to plant bulbs. We had a great time and hope to see lots of daffodils there in the spring!

Visit from Rev Bye

We have been learning in RE about people in the Bible who followed God.  We have also thought about how and why Christians follow God.  Rev Bye came to visit us this week to talk about what the word vocation means and to answer the questions the children had prepared.
