Year 8 Long Term Overview
Welcome back and welcome to our new Year 6 children!!
It's a new school year and I hope we are all raring to go. There will be no time to waste with lots to learn and lots of fun to be had. We will be getting pretty active right from the word go with Bikeability starting on Thursday 14th September and continuing into day two on Thursday 21st September. I have sent out a little fun reading activity for the children to complete whilst carrying out their daily reading and hope that this little incentive will help to engage them even further whilst having fun at the same time. I will be sending one of these each month throughout the year.
END OF YEAR 5
Just before the end of the last half term, our Space topic came to a thrilling end with the wonderful spectacle of our very own Joel Mayor creating his very own replica jetpack (with a little supervision from his parents) and bringing it it to show his classmates, as well as giving them the opportunity to wear his jetpack and have their photo taken. This was then followed by our wonderful and very informative visit to Jodrell Bank where the children were able to: learn all about the different types of telescope that are used, the history behind Jodrell Bank, watch some exciting demonstrations, investigate and find answers to questions, play with interactive presentations, watch an amazing show in the Space Dome and even dress up as a spy.

Space with Mrs Kanani
Many thanks to Mrs Peto for putting us in touch with Mrs Kanani from the Royal Astrological Society who came into school to talk Class 7 all about the careers that you can follow in relation to Space. She also had some great fun with the children involving some Oreo's and the phases of the Moon. A fun way to learn and the children loved it. Thank you Mrs Kanani and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future!!
Cheerleading
At the start of the Spring half-term, the children began their cheerleading lessons and they are doing fantastic. They are learning the skills and routines very quickly and are having lots of fun whilst doing so.
